Fun Facts: Planes, Trains, & Automobiles is a John Hughes classic movie, Starring Steve Martin and the late John Candy, that was filmed on Oxford Street in Kenilworth. In my childhood I recall them filming the movie in the summertime with all the fake snow on the ground.
Recreation and Lifestyle: This quant community has its own beach on Lake Michigan, divided into a sailing beach and a bathing beach. Residents also enjoy Pee Wee baseball field and Townley Field that host various sports like field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, football, and the school’s Field Day. Plus, the Kenilworth Club is in the center of town, and is a community house that hosts diverse events throughout the year.
Transportation: Kenilworth’s Metra station and access to I-94 make commuting to downtown Chicago a breeze. It is also a 30 minute drive from O’Hare International Airport.
